Horse Crime is a campaign by Horses In Our Hands, Horse Plus Humane Society and Moon Mountain Sanctuary and Rescue. This policy explains what information we collect on horsecrime.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information you give us

When you use the form to ask the President to act, we collect:

• Your first and last name
• Your email address
• Your ZIP code
• Whether you asked for updates on this campaign and other horse protection efforts

With your sign-up we also record the date and time, your IP address and your browser type, so we can show when and how you gave consent.

Your letter to the White House

We prepare a letter with your name on it. You copy it and send it yourself through the White House contact form at whitehouse.gov. We do not send it for you, and what you submit there is covered by the White House's own privacy policy.

How we use your information

We use your name to prepare your letter, and we keep a record of each letter request (your name, email, ZIP code and whether you opted in) so we can count and verify participation in the campaign. We only email you if you opt in:

• If you check “Keep me updated on this campaign and other ways to protect America’s horses”, we use your email and ZIP code to send you updates on this campaign and other horse protection efforts, including bills in your state and elsewhere

If you do not opt in, we will not email you, and your details are not shared with Givebutter.

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

Who we share it with

Letter requests are stored in private storage with Vercel, our website host. Opted-in supporters may also be added to Givebutter, the platform Horse Plus Humane Society uses to manage supporters and donations. These providers process your information on our behalf. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Donations

Donations are processed by Givebutter. Payment details go directly to Givebutter and its payment processors and are never seen or stored by this website. See Givebutter's privacy policy.

Cookies and tracking

This site does not use advertising or analytics cookies. The Givebutter donate button may set cookies needed for checkout to work.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email. To see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
